Research on Carbon-Based Nanomaterials

The Star group is interested in developing novel carbon-based nanomaterials and employing them for practical applications. The research in the Star group focuses on the synthesis of novel carbon nanomaterials, developing chemical and biological sensors and building carbon nanotube-based sensing platforms aiming to address health-care related problems. The results of our research have led to positive steps in the development of novel applications, which include the production of chemical and biological sensors, energy conversion devices (fuel cells), nano-capsules for drug delivery, and point-of-care diagnostic devices.
